Immerse yourself in a five-day intensive workshop dedicated to the ancient art of fish leather. You will learn to transform raw skins into durable, beautiful leather using 100% natural tannins and dyes.
Fish skin is a versatile material used in many parts of the world throughout history, perfect for everything from jewelry and wallets to clothing and footwear. .
What You’ll Take Home:
5–10 pieces of finished leather
Deep understanding of natural tanning and dyeing processes
A digital instructional guide (ebook) for future reference
Confidence to tan fish skins on your own at home

$750 | Sustainer Rate: Represents the direct cost of the workshop
$850 | Reciprocity Rate: Supports the value of the instruction and honours over a decade of specialized practice and skill acquisition

Accommodation: Bell tent camping on-site
Amenities: Access to running water, showers, and ocean swimming
Supplies: All raw skins, tanning agents, and tools

Community: A welcoming and inclusive environment of like-minded creatives
Location & Logistics
The workshop is held in qathet, BC. Please note that the journey involves two ferry crossings from Vancouver.
Transportation: There is no local bus service.
Carpooling: If you require a ride from Vancouver or can offer one, we are happy to facilitate connections between participants.
